PRIVACY

The policies below are applicable to www.kidzmagazine.com (the website). Kidz Magazine's Web site is a place for children, parents and teachers. This policy is written to apply to both Kidz Magazine current website activities and those activities described below that may be offered in the future. Please check back from time to time as we may add additional activities, and we will then amend our Privacy Policy to cover those activities. We hope you enjoy the Web site. We care about the safety of children and will do everything possible to protect the privacy of our visitors. For children visiting our Web site for the first time, please ask your parents to go over this with you!

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Kidz Magazine does not currently collect or solicit personally identifying information online. In the future, Kidz Magazine may introduce activities, such as art submissions, story submissions, "Kidzee" submissions, games, and contests which may require the collection of personally identifiable information from the user. In these instances, children will not be permitted to participate in such activity until a parent or guardian has filled out and sent via postal mail or fax, Kidz Magazine's Parental Consent Form.

Kidzee's

Some Kidzee submissions will be published online. The information is collected and published only after receiving a properly filled-out Parental/Legal Guardian Consent form (for children under the age of thirteen). After we have received parental/guardian consent, submissions will also be reviewed by employees at Kidz Magazine to assure quality and appropriateness of content.

Children's submissions chosen for publication on our Web site will be identified on our site only by first name, age, city and state - unless otherwise specified through parent/guardian consent.

No personal information collected by Kidz Magazine is ever shared for use by anyone outside of Kidz Magazine, except as may be required by law or to protect Kidz Magazine or other parties' legal rights.

Kidz Magazine may use aggregate, non-personally identifiable information for its own internal promotion or marketing purposes and Kidz Magazine may share such aggregate non-personally identifiable information internally or with its agent (e.g. Public Relations agencies, ad agencies) for Kidz Magazine's marketing purposes.

CHILDREN'S STATEMENT

Kidz Magazine encourages parents, legal guardians, and teachers to spend time online with their children and to participate in the interactive activities offered on our Web site.

No personally identifying information should be submitted to or posted at Kidz Magazine's Web site by children under 13 years of age without the consent of their parent or guardian.

Click here to obtain Kidz Magazine's Verifiable Parental Consent form.

Kidz Magazine does not solicit or encourage online communication with children under 13 years of age. If a child under 13 years of age sends us an e-mail with a question or comment, or enters one of our contests, and we have reason to believe the sender is a child under 13 years of age, we will not respond and will not maintain or use the sender's email address. In all other cases, we will write back using the sender's email address, or address given, but we will not keep the address or use it again.

Kidz Magazine does not provide any personally identifying information, regardless of its source, for use by any third party for any purpose whatsoever.

Kidz Magazine may use non-personally identifying aggregate information for its own internal marketing of promotional purposes.

Upon receipt of appropriate parental consent through Kidz Magazine's Parental/Guardian consent form, Kidz Magazine may in the future collect certain personally identifiable information from children such as name and address, e-mail address, gender, age, and place of residence, or creative submissions such as original stories, drawings, Kidzee's or other contest or game submissions. Kidz Magazine cannot and will not collect information about children without parental consent, with the exception of limited information (e.g., child's name, parent's name and parent's e-mail address) necessary to obtain consent, and other such limited exceptions allowed by law.

Your consent is entirely a voluntary process. Parents are under NO OBLIGATION to provide consent for collection or use of information about their children, or for participation in which the child may disclose information which may be read by others (e.g., story submissions, Kidzee's, contest and drawings).

If a parent consents, Kidz Magazine may use this information to contact the child and notify children if they are winners in a contest or game, or have been published on our Web site. Kidz Magazine may also use this information for internal purposes such as compiling statistics on Kidz Magazine website usage and participation in various Kidz Magazine website activities, and may provide non-personally identifying aggregate information to agents who are acting on behalf of Kidz Magazine for marketing or public relations purposes. (e.g. the total number of children visiting the site). However, Kidz Magazine will never sell or transfer any personal information about children for use by any third party, except as may be required by law or to protect Kidz Magazine or another party's legal rights. For certain activities (such as Kidzee submissions, and story/drawing submission sections), in which Kidz Magazine has obtained verifiable parental consent for the child to participate in the activity, children may have the opportunity to post information about themselves that others could read. Kidz Magazine will not publish on-line any content(s) submitted which contains personally identifying information in the body of submission(s). However Kidz Magazine maintains that any content submitted that does not go through our publishers and is submitted directly online, Kidz Magazine has no control over and urges parents and children to avoid submitting personally identifying information in the body of submissions.

Kidz Magazine cannot, and will not, condition participation in any activity upon disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in such an activity.

Upon request to Kidz Magazine, parents may review their own child's personal information at any time, may request to have any personal information about their child deleted, and may withdraw their consent to the collection of use of information about their own children or participation in any of the website activities. ABOUT INTERNET PROVIDER ADDRESSES

Kidz Magazine collects Internet Provider (IP) addresses for the purposes of system administration and to report aggregate information. An IP address is an identifier that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers - the big computers that "serve" up Web pages - automatically identify your computer by its IP address.

When guests request pages from Kidz Magazine's Web site, our servers log the guests' IP addresses. We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that a user's session will be logged, but the user remains anonymous to us. This information allows us to keep our Web site running efficiently. The information that we record includes the browser (such as Netscape, Internet Explorer) and the operating system (such as Macintosh, Windows 98, etc.) used by the visitor. Another use of this type of information includes the number of visitors to the various pages in our site but only in a combined and non-personally-identifiable form. E-mail addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors to this site are known only when voluntarily submitted.

The cookie is not permanently stored and is automatically deleted once you have completed the online activity. Kidz Magazine does not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes, except on a non-personally identifying aggregate basis, nor is that information shared with any third parties. In the case that Kidz Magazine should choose to use cookies, Kidz Magazine will never sell information collected by cookies or use the information for commerce-related purposes. In addition, Kidz Magazine will not filter content based on your preferences without permission.
